Star Wars Episode 3, Revenge of the Sith is the best Star Wars movie because of the well choreographed duels, the character development of the main characters, and the plot twists/ build up of the conflicts. The film stars Hayden Christensen as Jedi Knight, Anakin Skywalker, and Ewan McGregor as his Jedi Master, Obi-Wan Kenobi. Throughout we follow them as well as other heroes as they navigate the Clone Wars being fought against the Separatists. As the story progresses we meet Palpatine and Padme who are both very important characters in Anakin’s life.

The movie is set as a prequel to before the original 3 star wars movies that were released previously. The reason that most people hate the prequels as a whole is because they feel that it does not match up to the originals. These movies were also required to live up the original and connect the stories that were already set up as well as to hit all the marks to not disappoint the fans. Revenge of the Sith is the last film before the first original movie, meaning it is the main connection between the two films. This was done extremely well with the connections between Anakin Skywalker and Darth Vader in which we later find to be the same person. The movie perfectly paces the change of Anakin from the light to the dark side without explicitly stating it. It provided good motivations for the change instead of having it being abrupt with no explanation; being his love for Padme and needing to save her. The acting of Palpatine really brought across his manipulative nature that only the audience could really see in which it builds its suspense. As well as the movie brings across the emotion and distress of characters and their actions. Examples being the battle between Obi-Wan and Anakin towards the end of the movie on Mustafar following Order 66. The battle and “the darkness in Anakin, the way they’re so in sync because Kenobi taught his padawan everything he knows” (Vargas), brought across the importance of those scenes. The line delivery of both actors brought across the pleading of the situation from McGregor specifically, “You were my brother Anakin… I loved you” (McGregor). It brings across the emotion and desperation he has to save him and the betrayal he felt. This line is even more impactive because based on the code of the Jedi “There is no passion; there is serenity.” (Wookieepedia), meaning that the connection between the two was technically forbidden.

One of the most memorable moments of the prequel films are the intricate fights between many of the characters. The most popular one being between Anakin and Obi-Wan as they move across the lava planet of Mustafar. Nick Gillard, the choreographer for the movie, worked with the two and created one of the most talked about fights of the star wars series. He also created some of the most iconic jedi/ lightsaber moves for Anakin that are used as call backs throughout the rest of the films.
